It was through my involvement with Model United Nations as an undergraduate at Yale that I recognized that I genuinely enjoyed teaching and exchanging with students. This in no small part motivated me to pursue a career in academia. At Georgetown, my experiences as a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the four courses listed below confirmed to me that teaching is a passion and a skill that I look forward to developing in the years to come. For my efforts as a TA during the 2016-2017 academic year, I was nominated by my students for the Graduate Student Teaching Assistant Award conferred by the Georgetown Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

In addition, as President of the Graduate Political Science Association (GPSA) I spearheaded the development of a new Government Department “Pedagogy Workshop” in collaboration with fellow PhD student Margarita Ramriez as well as Prof. Diana Kapiszewski (Department Director of Graduate Studies) and Prof. Charles King (Department Chair). This full-day event served as a means to exchange ideas and best practices with first-time TAs with respect to all aspects of teaching, including leading discussion sections, grading, developing lesson plans, addressing challenges, identifying useful resources at Georgetown, and beyond. Session leaders included several Professors from the Government Department, University Deans, representatives from the Georgetown Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship (CNDLS), as well as advanced graduate students. For the Workshop, I managed the compilation of a new GPSA Pedagogy Reference Sheet which was shared with all participants.
